Nifty July futures trade at premium

The Nifty July 2020 futures was at 10,642, a premium of 23.80 point compared with the Nifty's closing of 10,618.20 in the cash market.

Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment was Rs 21.50 lakh crore compared with Rs 15.10 lakh crore in the previous session.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index rose 10.85 points or 0.1% to settle at 10,618.20.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, declined 1.59% at 26.21.

On the options front, the Nifty option chain for 30 July 2020 expiry showed maximum call open interest (OI) of 27.30 lakh contracts at the 11,000 strike price. Maximum put OI of 32.29 lakh contracts was seen at 10,000 strike price.

RIL, Infosys and Bajaj Finance were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. RIL July 2020 futures were at 1,848, compared with spot closing price of 1842.35. Infosys July 2020 futures were at 837 compared with spot closing price of 833.95. Bajaj Finance July 2020 futures were at 3,172, compared with spot closing price of 3166.50.

The July 2020 F&O contracts are set for expiry on 30 July 2020.
